The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (Camera di Commercio Italiana in Bulgaria), in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Veneto Region, is organizing the first Venetian Carnival in Sofia. It will take place at 7:00 PM on March 8th (Saturday) at the Central Military Club in the capital - 7 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. (at the intersection with G.S. Rakovski Street), just 15 minutes walking distance from our apartments.

You will experience the authentic atmosphere of the Venetian Carnival – a blend of art, tradition, and modernity – and immerse yourself in the magic of the celebration, with beautiful masks, golden drapes, and soft lighting transporting you to the majestic palaces of 18th-century Venice. The tradition of the carnival dates back to the 11th century, and it officially became a holiday two centuries later. Today, it is one of the most famous carnivals in the world, attracting thousands of tourists every year with its spectacular nature.

The ticket price for the event at the Military Club is 250 BGN. This includes:

An authentic Venetian mask, handmade by artisans from the Lagoon, which you will receive as a gift upon arrival
Live musical, dance, and theatrical performances by Venetian artists and masks from commedia dell’arte, with the active participation of the cultural association La Maison du Theatre (Theatre House) from the town of San Michele al Tagliamento. You will also be entertained by masked jugglers and stilt performers.
A buffet dinner with exquisite Italian wines.

Tickets are personal and can only be purchased via bank transfer, no later than 4-5 business days before the event.
