A to JazZ 2025 – An Unforgettable Stay in Sofia Amid the Rhythms of World Jazz

This week, Sofia is all about jazz. From July 3 (Thursday) to July 6 (Sunday), the 14th edition of the international jazz festival A to JazZ 2025 will take place in the capital.
The festival was founded in 2011 and traditionally marks the beginning of summer every year, presenting on its open-air stage both Bulgarian and international jazz performers and musicians – from established artists to emerging young talents.
The festival park will again be located in South Park II – near the National Palace of Culture (NDK) and Hilton Hotel, about 20-25 minutes on foot from our apartments, between the NDK and European Union metro stations.
A to JazZ Festival is organized by the A to Z Foundation, with the support of Sofia Municipality – Calendar of Cultural Events, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Tourism, and the National Culture Fund, in partnership with the French Embassy, the French Cultural Institute, Visit Bulgaria (www.facebook.com/bulgariatravelorg), Staropramen, Mastercard, Mypos, Lidl, Subaru, Servier, and Veolia.
The festival is a member of the European Festival Association Yourope and the European Jazz Network. A to JazZ Festival is part of UPBEAT – a European platform for world music, consisting of 14 international festivals and co-financed by the European Union.
This year’s festival program includes 25 concerts, an Art Bazaar, a children’s program A to JazZ Kids, a professional mini-conference A to JazZ Talks, various workshops, sports activities, and musical yoga.
Headliners on the main stage at A to JazZ 2025 include the soul-funk sensation Kennedy Administration, virtuoso Grammy-winning trumpeter Keyon Harrold, and French-Caribbean neo-soul star Adi Oasis, who will close the festival on Sunday (06.07).
International participants also include the trio Emile Londonien from France, ROSEYE from the Netherlands, Jet Vesper and Gilipojazz from Spain – two projects resulting from the partnership between A to JazZ, MadCool Festival, and the platform The Spanish Wave.
As usual, the program will showcase a strong selection of Bulgarian artists and performers with their latest productions. Among them are the young musicians from Uke Duo, guitarist Angel Demirev, talented trombonist Ivan Melin with his quintet, young trumpeter Alex Vitkov – VI:TKOV, and the legendary jazz formation Zone C.

A to JazZ Kids
For two days – July 5 and 6, from 10:30 to 12:30 on the terrace of Toplocentrala, there will be a fun children’s program with lots of music, games, drawing, and dancing.

On July 6 (Sunday) – “Jazz Improvisations with Notes and Colors” – joined by artist Teodor Likho so children can paint with sounds.

Yoga Breakfast
On July 5 and 6 (Saturday and Sunday), start your day with a musical yoga breakfast on the terrace of Toplocentrala.
Yoga sessions will be led by Padma Yoga Tribe (Hristina), accompanied live by authentic Indian instruments played by Rosen Genkov.
Nick Hobbs, one of the A to JazZ Festival delegates, will join the Saturday morning practice.
The French cosmetics brand La Roche-Posay will make the practice more enjoyable by providing yoga mats, towels, and gifts for participants.
A breakfast with fresh fruits and tea will follow.
A to JazZ Workouts – on July 5 (Saturday) from 10:00 on the meadow in front of the main stage in South Park II.
This year, there will be two trainers – Yana Stefanova and Pavel Nachev.

Music Talks Conference is a music conference, part of the festival’s professional program. Its 7th edition will take place on July 4 and 5 (Friday and Saturday) at Toplocentrala.

During the 4 festival days (from July 3 to 6), the AtoJazZ Art Bazaar will be set up in the festival park, where you can find beautiful and creative handmade products – from accessories to vinyl records and natural scents by Bulgarian artists and brands.
